SAINT-CHINIAN BETWEEN GARRIGUE AND SCRUBLAND

MONDAY 27 JANUARY 2020 FROM 6 pm to 10 pm

Gazette Café – 6 Rue Levat, Montpellier
(aint Roch district, opposite the railway station, 500 metres from the Place de la Comédie.)

The maquis on the schist in the north and the garrigue on the clay-limestone in the south form the unique personality of the wines of Saint-Chinian.

During the Millésime Bio 2020 trade fair, the Saint-Chinian winegrowers organised an evening based on the duality of the two terroirs of the Saint-Chinian appellation. An original way to discover the diversity of the wines through biodiversity, on one side the garrigue and on the other the maquis. An association of ecologists presented the species specific to each biotope accompanied by a tasting of plants in infusions! A sommelier also organised a small “blind test” to better understand the richness of the soils.
