For the 2021 Saint-Chinian Virtuoses award-winners, we separated wines grown on schist and those grown on limestone soils. In a first, the two panels tasted all the wines from each soil type.

Each panel chair was accompanied by two judges and social distancing rules were applied. All the wines from the same soil type were tasted by the panels.

Caroline Furstoss tasted wines from the limestone area, whilst Alain Chameyrat handled the schist wines. As is customary, one wine over three vintages is entered – making the selection particularly stringent – so that the ageability of the future Virtuose wine can be assessed. The full list of winners will be revealed in mid-January.
